Tri-Met 92X stuck on Teal Blvd in Murrayhill in Beaverton

Snow in Murrayhill

My neighbor Steve and I decided to venture out to the local Safeway to pick up a few grocery items. Having snowed throughout the evening, there was about 18 inches of snow everywhere. It was not surprising to see so many cars parked at the bottom of the hill; a sign that the roads were way too slick for even cars with chains.

On the way down to Safeway, we saw several cars, SUVs, and even a Tri-Met bus (with chains, may I add) stuck right in the middle of the road! On the way back from the market, Steve and I decided to help the Tri-Met folks push the bus out of the road. We had several people stop to help out (even a truckload of teenagers who were heading up to the mountain to go snowboarding). It was nice to see people of all ages stopping to lend a hand.

I wish I could say we were successful in getting the Tri-Met bus out of the road... but we were no match. A gravel truck was being called to the scene, and for obvious reasons, the 92X line was cancelled.

Upon coming home, the kids were enjoying the snow and their smiles lit up the entire neighborhood. What a day!
