I live 6 miles NE of Stayton, OR at 1000ft elevation. The snow started falling at 8:30am this morning (12-22-08) and it's been non stop. We now have 8" of new snow at 4:45pm and it's still snowing hard. Several trees have went down nearby due to snow weight. We have been lucky, all snow and no freezing rain.
