To get out today I elected to skip the SUV and snowshoe up to the top of Thompson and Skyline. Along the way I shot some photos of ice covered objects. Snowshoes ended up being the perfect mode of transport; I was 2 to 5 ft above the roadway, so when the cars came sliding down hill I was well out of the way. I guess if you can't make it up to Hood for the snow, the snow sometimes comes to you.
