The Storm of 2008.
The Storm of 2008 came with snowy blast of the northern air flow.
People will remember this storm because their travels were slow.
With only a few days for St. Nick to appear.
People were stuck on the roads, not able to steer.
The snow brought good cheer, as the children sled and played.
Travelers slept in the bus stations, also flights were delayed.
P.D.X. and Tri-Met, they were in such fear,
Not wanting to put travelers in danger, my dear!
P.G.E. need workers from near and from far,
Portlanders resorted to skis, instead of a car.
U.P.S. and the mailman worked through it all.
Yet, Christmas presents couldn't be bought at the mall.
Mother nature sure handed us the storm of the year,
As people turned the storm into spreading good cheer.
In Portland we're proud of these people we find,
They look for a chance to act and be kind.
There's only one story of this storm to be told.
It's how our hearts can be warmed by the wheather so cold!
