It was Christmas night and after a busy afternoon cooking, playing games and enjoying our family, my husband and I decided to build a snowman. A few days earlier, we tried, but it was too cold and the snow wouldn't roll into anything to make our creation. My husband and I are in our late 40's and as we rolled snow and lifted the heavy mounds of snow to complete our handywork, I wondered to myself, how many more snowmen we would be able to build. It was hard work, the snow was wet and heavy. When we lifted his head to the top, we laughed with delight. The fun part was just beginning. Coal for the eyes, nose and mouth and buttons, and branches for the arms and a cap brought our creation to life. Did I mention that we started our fun around 11:30 pm, and ended at 2:30 am. This sums the night up:
Rolling heavy snow into huge balls
Lifting our balls of heavy snow for the body
Laughing our heads off after our first lifting attempt came crashing down
Finding coal and branches to bring it to life
Getting a neighbor to take pictures of us together with our big buddy
Spending time with my husband........priceless!
