Up in the hills or Cornelius, we are used to seeing some snow even when there isnt any just 5 minutes away down the hill, but this year was an incredible adventure I am not so sure we want to repeat again any time soon, but it was exciting!
This year, my husband (Gabe) finally got snow for his Xmas birthday, which he hadnt had since the 5th grade :), as well as this being the 1st snow for the newest addition to our family (Penelope, 9 month old French Bulldog).
Basically we were homebound for almost 2 weeks. Only venturing down the hill a few times to stock up on the necessities. Just praying we would make it back up the hill to get home, because if not, we were going to have a long walk up-hill - bummer!
We were unable to make it to our Christmas/Birthday dinner at my Sisters house but did make it to the Xmas Blazer game (which we lost :( but boy was it good to get out of the house, scream and cheer and support our favorite team!
Anyway to make a long story shorter . . . our gutters are falling off the house, the roof over our deck collapsed, vents are being ripped off the roof with the melting snow and we are almost out of the firewood that was supposed to last us all winter!
The pictures and memories we have of the last 2 weeks will last us a lifetime!
