Hundreds are w/out power and cannot leave their homes today In Eagle Creek Or. including my 60yr old Mother. Twin Island & Paradise Park Communities are completely cut off.
This is the second major landslide in less than a year on this Road, which is part of The Historic Oregon Trail.During previous rd closure, neighbor opened up private property for Local Access, but due to Flooding they are not able to this time. A family was seen climbing cliff face to get to an Access Road. National Guard had been called in but was not anywhere in sight as of picture, in fact no one was there.

There has been other slide on this road prior to the logging that has happend in 2005 everyone always blames logging for slides. The Geo- Tec walked this are advised owners what could couldnt be logged. The new needs to get all details.

My husband and I visited our old neighborhood on McMinn Rd., in the Twin Islands/Paradise community on Jan. 1. Our last visit was in 2000. We noticed sides of Heiple Rd. area down to the community had been logged off...reason for mudslide perhaps?

Red Cross is bringing supplies to this area. Both communities are on the Clackamas river, where a flood warning is in effect.
