Around the end of summer last year, a statue of the former Governor McCall was erected at Salem Riverfront park.
The statue is based on a 1973 picture of the 60 year old governor according to the Statesman Journal, and was a $250,000 project done by Rip Caswell, a sculptor in Troutdale because of Governor Tom McCall's environmental initiatives.
Each time I snap a photo of Smitty and Miley at the statue, it looks as if the governor is watching them pass by.
