This evening residents on Dutch Canyon Road lost power after a drunk driver plowed through one of the main power poles before ending up in our neighbors front yard. He completely severed the pole and thanks to PUD (they rock when there's no snow causing the power outages haha) we and the rest of dutch cnayon have power back, except for there are still two houses without power because their underground lines got stretched out from the pole being taken out. I drove by about 10 seconds after it happened and the pole was bouncing up and down above the road about 6 feet from me. SCARY. I wish i could've gotten pictures but it was way too dark. anyway, i just wanted to post this incase other Scappoose residents or other Dutch Canyon people were curious what happened.
and as a message to all: don't drink and drive. this guy is lucky to be alive. yeah, he's in jail now, but that's what happens when you make poor choices.
