Mysterious disappearing threads

These photos were taken mid-morning, 01/16/09 in Lake Oswego, Oregon. The area was experiencing a freezing fog and though they look like spider webs I suspect these strands were produced by those conditions. Five minutes after the photos were taken the frost melted and the strands completely disappeared. I've never seen anything like this before.
