Can anyone explain what is going on here. The jet airplane just made a complete circle and a half and headed back towards Portland. The picture was taked in Dallas, OR. sbout 2:00PM January 29, 09 --- I'm not sure if the pictures got attached, If not let me know

I saw the contrail from the N.E. corner of Salem. Through an oblong hole in the fog and clouds, I could see the contrail came from the north, along a controlled decent from around 20,000 feet. I did not see the jet.
