This is sunrise at Rockaway Beach, OR. Sunday morning. Despite the snow on the coast later in the day, Sunday 02/08/09 started out beautifully.

Yes, the sun does, in fact, rise in the east. It was rising over the coast range behind me as I was looking southwest toward Twin Rocks. It turned the clouds along the beach pink. The snow was actually the next day.

My friend saw this, also, just south of Newport. I hope you do realize that the sun rises in the the east!!!!
