Hunger Strike Keep The Oregon Guard Home

Michele Darr is interviewed and filmed as she maintains a hunger strike vigil on Oregon State Capital steps. She has been fast all this month on a water only diet. On this day 2/14/09 she was on day 24 of fasting. She is bringing public awareness to the illegal use of (AUMF) authorization use of military force, by sending the National Guard to Iraq. Michele is asking Oregonians to join in this action by calling your state representative and the Governor and urging him to Keep The Oregon Guard in Oregon. all volunteer armies should not be lied to, decieved, manipulated, and ordered to do "illegal things" we invaded a country using volunteers that were lied to. The AUMF (authorization for using miltary force) was written based on WMD's and is wrong

you certainly have a right to do this. but this does not mean that it is right. Remember that todays army is an all volunteer force.

Although I have a lot of respect for her strong moral values and share her concern for our National Guard personnel, I wonder if she realizes she is shortening her life considerably by this starvation? She could easily have a stroke and die.
