Portland Tea Party

We had a great, peaceful protest in downtown this morning. There were well over 100 people voicing their concerns about Mr. Obama's stimulus package. Many families brought their children as they will be the ones burdened by our decisions.

I hope you will take the time to give our cause a voice.

Thank you!

Are there ever real meetings in Portland? Not just a gathering of protesters at the square? It would be good to know this. Thanks

Chuck Glisson says ... on Tuesday, Oct 12 at 2:23 AM

Hey WINKYGIRL, If you read my ENTIRE MESSAGE even an IDIOT such as YOURSELF ould have known I meant PORTLAND!

Hey all. Where can I join a Tea Party in Oregon? I'm moving back up there to my home state!

winkygirrl says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 5:21 PM

Chuck, Oregon is a state not a city. I fear I'm paying your mortgage!

Chuck Glisson says ... on Tuesday, Sep 8 at 3:48 PM

Oh please, The fact that a small group [yes thats right 100 people in a city the size of Oregon is small] of YAHOO's from OUT OF TOWN can come here and voice an opinion that is VERY UNPOPULAR here, is testiment to character of PORTLANDERS!

The only way to up-right any economy; is to in-power the people for which our constitution stands; That means supplying individuals with tools, and education from facts; not fiction or desire. Far to often we fall victim to our reasons or excuses!;-)

When is the next tea party? Today is MAY 20

A bunch of idiots!

There is a rally for a Portland Tea Pary tonight at 6 pm at the Pioneer Square. Gathering starts around 5 pm. Be there if you are supporting change of the present policy to tax the citizens beyond our means. It is very important to all of us.

Portland Gal says ... on Wednesday, Apr 15 at 2:18 PM

I saw on the Tea Party website... Portland Oregon. Pioneer Courthouse Square. 6pm - 10pm. Be there.

It's a sad day when Americans can only turn out a few thousand people for these very needed protests, against the machiavellian taxation burdened us. If we were in France, millions all over would be protesting: We need to educate the unenlightened!

The way I see it...Obama signed these bills....Did you sign one ? I didn't sign one. So much has been done in secret...this is not the American way...We are the people !!!!! Let Obama dig deep in his pockets and pay this...

Collin says ... on Wednesday, Apr 15 at 10:41 AM

Saw a sign in Seattle yesterday, "I'll keep my freedom, I'll keep my guns, I'll keep my money and you President Obama can keep the change".

Armed Sceptic says ... on Tuesday, Apr 14 at 6:31 PM

Rendi, you have it completely backwards. Anyone willing to look will see that to date, the Bush/)bama administrations have transferred 12.8 trillion to private offshore corporations. Unite. Resist. Step out and exercise your rights.

Reni says ... on Monday, Apr 13 at 10:09 AM

This should be about spending. If they stop spending they will be able to lower taxes

Teresa says ... on Friday, Apr 10 at 2:43 PM

Portland Tea party group on Facebook is organized to start at the post office April 15 at maybe 3-6:30 pm. Probably move to Pioneer Square after. 1500 expected. Please join us! Show everybody we want lower taxes!!!! Non-partisan. All welcome.

Douglas says ... on Thursday, Apr 9 at 12:39 PM

April 15th, 9am, Pioneer Sq. Bring a sign, show it matters.

It's nice to know there are still people out there who believe in the Constitution! We have to stand up and be loud. If here is a tea party in Portland on the 15th, I'll be there! But let's make sure this about ALL the career politicians! Term Limit

Todd says ... on Wednesday, Apr 1 at 2:59 PM

This is such a breath of fresh air! I love hearing all of you, echo my thoughts! It is so painful watching these career politicians try and run an economy, when none of them have ever run a lemonaide stand! We need to unite for another rally!

Joe says ... on Wednesday, Apr 1 at 9:33 AM

This is great! No better way to speak out on taxes than to have a good ol' fashioned tea party. I didn't get to participate in the first one, but I hope to get out for the next one. I'll be passing it around at work as well.

I'm going to put a bumper stick on my car which reads: HONK IF YOU"RE PAYING MY MORTGAGE! complete with Obama campaign symbol. I've also seen them say If I'm paying you're mortgage too ;-) Nick must be one whose house I'm paying for.

Nick says ... on Sunday, Mar 29 at 2:04 AM

Your all biased and obviously uneducated as to how the stimulus package actually works. Its allows for new industries to be built, brings jobs back to America and starts paying peoples bills to build better credit. Its the last chance

Deb says ... on Thursday, Mar 26 at 12:09 AM

There's one in the works for downtown Portland on April 15. We will be rolliing out details ASAP.

conservativenorthwest.com says ... on Wednesday, Mar 25 at 4:50 PM

I've seen two scheduled, one for 15 April at Ft Vancouver, and one for 18 April at the clark county courthouse. Same folks that did the Portland Party, but still looking for the organizers. I'll post to my blog when I have more.

BPete says ... on Tuesday, Mar 24 at 3:41 PM

Would absolutely participate if knew in advance. Great going!!

PnwBob says ... on Monday, Mar 23 at 6:09 AM

I believe that there are many more people (myself included) that would make time to be part of the next protest if it were organized and publicized in advance. I might have to take a day off but it would be worth it.

zdawg says ... on Tuesday, Mar 10 at 10:24 AM

Great work! Does anyone out there know if there are any more tea party peaceful protests scheduled for the near future in the Portland area?

Maxtor Man says ... on Sunday, Mar 1 at 1:38 PM

That's a Great Sign!

lonewolfsap says ... on Sunday, Mar 1 at 11:44 AM

Well well I once said a few years back that political correctness would be the downfall of this country boy was I ever right!

mellow32 says ... on Saturday, Feb 28 at 6:31 PM

I believe that the stimulus is going to benefit only the legal and illegal immigrants.Which unfortunately our children and grandchildren will be forced to pay for.Americans should always be afforded employment before immigrants.
