money scam

i signed up to become a secret shopper through craigslist.com. i got a couple of emails about getting a package from fedex that had a check in it for $3,895. it told me to cash the check at my local bank and to keep $300. then it says to take the rest to 7-11 on sandy blvd and to do a money gram and send it to a specific address in florida. i thought it was a scam from the beginning and i didnt do one thing on there. but i printed off all the email's and i still have the check. it was from the Halliance mystery shopper co. i have the persons name and their email address so if anyone else comes across this email dont do anything with the check. if you need more info i dont have any problem turning this info over to the proper authorities to catch these people.

This is first time I received money ahead of time for secret shopping job, all other jobs, I received money after I completed the assignment. Some secret shoppers jobs are legit, some are bogus

I received check in mail for secret shopper, and before cashing it, I called bank it was issue on, and then referred me to another number, which covers money orders etc, and was informed to consider the check fraud, and to send back to company.

I travel to villages on business and in one particular place learned that the village store cashed a check for somebody (over 3000 dollars) and it bounced (naturally). It looked just like bank-check with name and routing numbers, but they were phony

visualblue hey on craig list sometimes you can find good things but concerning a job in that subject you won't have any luck because nothing is good for anybody because they will tell you that you don't qualify for it .

I applied for an Office Manager position off Craigslist.org and received an email from this company. The only thing that comes up on Google for this company is this posting that it's a scam. What losers.

you should email them back and say you didn't get the check. Get them to send you another (at their cost and trouble). What fun!
