NWKC Three Camp Themes Are:
-For the month of June you will form your own band! Campers will learn what it takes to actually make & perform music – from instrument making, to costumes...and everything else – you will have a rockin’ time while being incredibly creative and stimulated. Music - Does your family enjoy listening to different kinds of music, learning new moves, and just groovin’ to the tunes? Camper come ready to rock! We will introduce different types of music and simple dance moves. Some of the dances taught are the Cha Cha, the Electric Slide, YMCA, Shout, and Freeze dance. Instruments – Campers receive basic instruction on a variety of different instruments, learn how instruments are used to make music, and discover the feelings that music sparks. They will get to experience the thrill of forming a band, rehearse like pros, and play a stellar concert for all of their fans.

- Each week features a new building project (or health clinic). Children will build items such as a skyscraper, aborigine hut, crocodile habitat, and an Olympic stadium. Or for “Little Doctors" will be completing a crash course medical school, setting up vision exams, fixing broken bones in an emergency room, or completing an exam on a new-born baby.
- The children will follow a daily fun routine that includes: Story (or drama), art project, outdoor adventure game, challenge building (or medical) activity, small group/individual skill game, singing and dancing, and of course Payday (play money)!
- Children get paid a dollar at the end of each day for working hard as an architect (or doctor). At the end of the week, they visit the store where they can buy a prize of their choice.
- Each day includes integrated character education lessons, fun facts about Australia (or Africa), and team-building exercises the camp counselors will follow.

We are very excited about our new camps. It is very educational and because we get the children singing, moving, building, and playing together - they will hardly realize they are learning in the process!
Day camp is a perfect introduction to the camp experience for the younger child, but it can also be a good choice for an older camper who isn't ready for, or is uninterested in sleep away camp. In a good program, children learn within the context of play. An older day camper participates in many of the same activities as campers in an overnight program, but with the comfort of returning home at night.
