The wind and rain slammed our neighborhood.
Here's some pictures of trees down against the condos on Allen and Erickson in Beaverton and the tree down across Allen Boulevard.

I live out in the country and what came through our area was a small tornado. Granted nothing like they have in Kansas but it WAS a tornado. A neighbor up the road called and said she saw a funnel formation but it didn't touch all the way down.

It may have been a micro burst we have them in Ks all the time it will hit here and there

Actually for those who were paying attention to the radar velocities, there was some rotation with the storm. This was likely straight-line wind damage, but I wouldn't rule out a tornado (not a supercell though. Tornadoes can form without supercells)

Really wow you people are worried about this what about the swine flu and these people faking the swine flu. A little wind comes and everyone has a spaz out.

This was obviously cause by a UFO trying to make a crop circle but something must have happened and it went off course. I'm an expert from Area51 so you can take my word on it.

You all are trippin - in Alaska we have that kind of wind all the time - it is called GALE FORCE WINDS. They can be anywhere from 50 to 150 miles per hour. You people just had some very strong winds. Congradulations!

I would suggest watching storm chasers on the Discovery Channel, or go out to the Noaa web site for information on toranado`s (www.weather.gov).

Well it was strong winds thunder and lightning in Tigard on Saturday. I was at a memorial service and the winds hit when people were trying to leave and actually blowing them back inside the church. I don't think it was a tornado though.

Not a tornado.. suggest you look up what a tornado does look like! And try watching twister or the category 7 & 8 movies.. might give you a clue what they are really like. This was nothing..

....then you will know that it was not a tornado!

They mis quoted the homeowner. It was a huge "TOMATO", that did the damage!

Lets consult Al Gore. He's an expert in climate conditions! I believe what he says.

Some people are saying this is just a normal Oregon spring thunder storm. Some people are saying they have never seen anything like it. Both are correct. In most places it was a normal thunder storm. But in some places it created funnel clouds.

there was a funnel cloud/mini tornado in my neighborhood in Milwaukie. it only hit spots here and there so it had to be. plus somebody said they saw it.
says ... on Sunday, May 3 at 7:16 PM

says ... on Sunday, May 3 at 6:35 PM

Although your blowhard attitude shows you're obviously smarter than the rest of us, stop acting as if you are an expert on what people know.

irritated, who cares what sandcat said! I lived in Missouri for 3 years and I can tell first-hand that the midwest natives pretty much are experts when it comes to tornadoes! I don't think sandcat was being rude or anything so relax. Find a hobby!
says ... on Sunday, May 3 at 8:17 AM
Sandcat, although you are correct- being from the midwest doesnt automatically make you an expert. Stop acting as if you are one.

Straight line winds...although the atmosphere was certainly unstable there was not enough wind shear or other factors to create a tornado. These storms where moving very quickly across our region, so it is no surprise that they produced high winds.
says ... on Sunday, May 3 at 7:38 AM
....Then tornadoes will!!! OH MY GOD WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
says ... on Sunday, May 3 at 3:45 AM
Hello, I am a midwestern native. Damage from a storm does not automatically indicate tornadic activity. The evidene I have seen in photos indicates straight-line wind damage. That storm was not rotating, nor was it capable of producing a tornado.
says ... on Sunday, May 3 at 12:24 AM
I think it was a typhoon, not a tornado.
says ... on Saturday, May 2 at 8:08 PM
It was just wind, rain, hail, and lightning/thunder from a passing storm, not a tornado.
