The fishing was red hot during last weekend's derby at Detroit Lake, located about an hour outside of Salem. Tens of thousands of trout were planted and they were hungry for just about anything you put on on your hook.

Think Detroit Lake will be a tad busy this Memorial Day Weekend? It'll be a real zoo. Keep your cool and relax. Don't let boat ramp issues ruin your day. And, please, if your boat hasn't been checked or tuned since last year, please move it.
