Memorial Day at National Cemetary

A beautiful Memorial Day at Willamette National Cemetary to honor our heros and veterans with thousands of flags placed by the National Guard.

Now, if only section V was addressed for keeping headstones above the ground rather than the deplorable state of being buried in 2 - 3 inches of mud. Not the proper way to honor our fallen by negleting this appalling situation.

Yes, the folks responsible for planting all the small U.S. Flags on each gravesite are to be commended. Not an easy task. I visited a close relative's grave, a Veteran of WWII who was a top turret gunner on a B-17 over Germany. I planted a flag.
