We had gotten home from school, soon after, it began to rain very hard. We ran outside in it and began to play. Soon the wind began to blow and we could see lightning and hear thunder. It started to hail, bringing on the storm. The storm was now over head.
We stood under cover on the porch for protection. The horses ran, out of control, and the llama layed with its head in the grass. The thunder was as loud as a rock concert, and the yard was filled with water. Pretty soon, we had lost electricity in the house.
We lit candles through out the house. I did my homework by the little amount of light left from the day. We sat in the living room, talking, it was actualy pretty peaceful. The rain continued, even after we went to bed.
My bed is right next to a wall with the outdoors on the other side. The rain kept me awake as it beat against the wall. I eventualy made my way out to the couch. There i slept quite well intil about 4:30 that morning. I suddenly awoke to bright lights and the sound of everything around me recovering from the loss of power. i sat up and turned it all back off and went back to sleep.
The storm returned the next day, worse than before, but that day is a whole different news report.
Gavin Redick, over n' out.
