Twister on the Oregon Coast

Twister Sited Newport, Oregon

We were fishing on the Umatilla II, out of Newport Marina Store and Charter's in Newport, OR. It was opening Salmon Day and the fish were bountiful! When out of the sky came a TWISTER!!! We all watched in wonder. Not knowing if it would dance upon the sea or just disapate. We watched it for quite some time. The wind picked up, the temperature dropped and the rain pounded down upon us...yet, we continued to FISH : ) It never touched down, but it was such a sight to see!

Wow "A Reader." Of course it's a Funnel Cloud, and of course it's going to be a Water Spout if it touches down because it's quite plainly Water-Based. Not only that, it's a Cold-Core Storm which is producing such a thing. Pretty simple minded.

I like turtles. I don't like to fish. I don't like twisters. I like you.

And 'disapate' should be dissipate. But overall, that would have been an incredible experience to go through!

It's a funnel cloud. If it touches down on water then it becomes a waterspout, a cousin of the land-based tornado. "Sited" should be "sighted."
