A fight at the beach in Bandon

Spent the weekend on the Oregon Coast and saw lots of crab legs while walking the beach. Saw this seagull drop into the sea and come up with something. When we got closer, realized he was tearing a crab apart - we ran to save the day. The lighthouse caretaker gave me a funny look and said instead of throwing it back into the water, we should have taken it home and boiled it for dinner!

Um, okay... so why interfere with a natural act? Pity for the crab? How about the sea bird's right to eat like it was designed to do? Oh please, silly human leave things alone.
