This weather warm and wet is bringing in all kinds of creatures. Weird thing is why all the spotting of larger species here in the NW?

I could be wrong, but it looks like a "Polyphemus Moth"

I believe it is a gypsy moth. They really are beautiful but do lots of damage.

Found one almost exactly like it today in our backyard!!

My daughter and I came across this same moth on the Bike trails east of Alton Baker Park, in Eugene. We took some photos also. Last week I was so excited to find another, but learned it had died! It's nice to see your posting!
