The Columbia River system is a world class fishery in many respects. Above is my wifes (Karen) first keeper Sturgeon that was caught earlier in the year above the John Day Dam. When fishing this pool for Walleye, we typically take a lunch break, throw out the Sturgeon rods sit back and relax (or try too). This is one of many caught that day but the ony legal keeper. At one point, the fish nearly pulled her over, she tried to hand the rod off but my son and I wanted nothing to do with it! She did a great job catching it so I did my job cooking and cleaning it.....
Wife out fishes me again!
