It was the saturday before Labor Day weekend. The rain coulnd't stop Gehrig from heading to Bonneville Oregon and getting the first bite of the day. The fishing day was looking kind of grim for us and all others out there by the Bonneville Dam when all of a sudden, the sound every fisherman loves to hear......Wwwwwhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiizzzzzzzzz! The line went down almost to the water and there it was......Gehrig's Walter! "HA!" Gehrig says "I will getcha! Don't you worry!" Sure enough, Gehrig reeled it in all by himself with no trouble at all. feeling so proud, we snapped a few pictures. And when asked what his favorite part of getting the fish in he said "whacking him on the head!" The final hurrah before the lights went out on Walter! Thanks to Gehrig we are now enjoying smoked salmon!
