SWMC 4West Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit

SWMC Rehab Look befor you Befor You Use

My uncle has had two strokes and and lost some of his right side use. We had him transfered from Emanuel to SWMC 4th Floor for rehab.

We have been on all the floors except the 4th and when we saw it our minds went crazy. The Bathrooms smelled so bad I almost got sick. Keep in mind the bathroom was in his room so he smelled it all day. I went to the front desk on the fourth floor and told them about the smell and I was told thats just the way the bathrooms smell. No way he had a stay on the second floor for about a week and that room was very clean and bathroom was very clean. The other problem was the facet in his room had white build up all over it and the handles and that was the place the nurses and the doctors washed there hands and it was all rusty also how sterile is that .
To top it of the upper wall had exposed wires with out a cover I am not sure what they are power or cable but it still poses a risk for my uncle he is 57 and needs a better place to rehab, one that is a clean fresh environment. My only fear is that it is a large wing and how do the other patients rooms look.
We place or loved ones in there care and hope for the best !!! But come on we put him in one of the best hospitals around....So what I have learned was Just because its a hospital always check out the whole building before you place your loved one there James M Smith Vancouver Wa

The credibility of your message is not helped by the fact that your command of English is at a second grade level.

You really went out of your way to expose the HORRIBLE CONDITIONS at the SWMC bathroom! Thanks for your service to our fine community! You deserve a reward!
