TIMBERLINE LODGE, Ore - For Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood, summer quickly transforms into winter.
A colder weather system moved into the region Monday night, providing the historical lodge and ski resort a dusting of snow.
The snowfall is also a sign that ski season lurks, but much more snow accumulation is needed before the resorts on Mt. Hood can fire up the chairlifts.
About an inch of snow accumulated on the trees and the ground. Timberline Highway and the parking lots, however, remained bare.
