Planting its roots deeply in Oregon soil, The Telling Project was begun in Eugene in February of 2007. An innovative production in which military veterans and their family members, after extensive interviews and training, stage the 'telling' of their stories to their communities, "Telling" has, in two years, been performed 10 times in Eugene, Portland and Seattle. The Telling Project will travel with a small cast of performers from both Portland and Eugene to Washington, DC in November for a Veterans' Day event recognizing civilian/military partnerships in national service.
With productions being planned in cities across the US, The Telling Project knows where its roots lie, and also knows that the message it delivers is one needed in all parts of the nation. The Telling Project believes that, through the simple acts of veterans and family members speaking, and their communities listening, we are made stronger as a nation.
