Thanks to the perfect exit of all the children and staff no one was hurt inside the school. There was a fire drill a week ago and the kindergarten thru 3rd graders were ready for the real thing today.Fire fighters did a great job of containing the fire today! As they chainsawed thru the roof, we could feel the heat burst out from across the street, and hear the air burst as the flames came reaching out rapidly thru the roof. The fire crept along the roofline and started down the walls, sending billowing smoke for miles. It is not know yet where these people will be able to attend school now, some mention of Rose Park was made. The KATU links will keep you informed.
