One year ago on this day, the behemoth 499-foot concrete cooling tower at the defunct Trojan nuclear power plant purposely came crashing down.
The detonation took place on May 21, 2006, precisely at 7:00 a.m., Pacific time.
Next up for the demolition is the fortified 200-foot dome-shaped containment building, which is due for demolition roughly sometime in 2008.
The containment structure's demolition contractors and method will be decided sometime in 2007, according to Portland General Electric's website.
