Synchronized Swimming In Action

Synchronized Swimming Segment with Local

Good afternoon,

The Tualatin Hills Synchronized Swimming Club would like to suggest two different segments to your station for the purpose of community awareness, aquatic sports and a primarily dominated woman's sport, even though our team has a male coach. We have a small team and we are looking for some support within the community. Synchronized Swimming is one of the top five most demanding sport to the human body and we are one of two clubs in the state of Oregon, both clubs are local and are vying for Local, Regional and National Titles. Below, are the two segment ideas we would like to propose to you.....

The Synchro Challenge:
The Tualatin Hills Synchronized Swimming Club would like to host a Synchro Challenge. We ask that a media representative gets in the water and attempts some progressively more difficult synchro skills alongside our local team members. One way to spice it up is to invite local celebrities or sports stars to participate with the media.

or

Synchronized Segment:
Two announcers present a piece on our team, athlete or event. Sounds simple. The selling point is they dress the same, talk the same, perform synchronized gestures to the camera, and a synchronized interview complete with two microphones, etc. It's a light-hearted interview that can attract a lot of attention.

The team has been around for years and we have produced national and collegiate athletes and we are proud to serve our community.

Regards,
John Ortiz

I like it...I have never been intrested in syncronized swimming, but this a great idea to get exposure to people who spend time competing on a national stage for Oregon. Hopefully your team does well this year. Cheers

Kyle, Thank you for your support. We are looking good. Even though the team is small we have a number of young girls who are determined to make the national scene. So far one 13 year old and two 9 year old athletes are on that path.

I can attest what a great sport synchronized swimming is. I've watched my daughter participate in the sport the past 3 years and she has gained so many valuable life skills and athletisicm. It is an amazing and beautiful sport to watch.

Is this available for kids of all ages? Is it seasonal or year round? I would love to hear more about this. I've seen synchronized swimming in the olympics but didn't have a clue there was anything local.

This is a great sport! My daughter is 8 and loves it! She has tried many other sports but fell in love with synchronized swimming. She doesn't consider it a sport. She's on the recreational squad but she can't wait to get on the competitive squad!

Kathryn, you'll have to check out the t-hills synchro website. The season goes from Sept-July and it's amazing to watch the kids participate. I sincerely hope KATU does a piece on this incredible sport.

Synchronized swimming is an amazing sport. It is a sport that is under the "radar". Where else can you combine swimming, dance, music, gymnatastics, speed, and beauty. It would be so great for KATU to come and see what this is all about.

I am glad we found synchronized swimming with THill Synchro for my 8 years old. This sports really helped boost herself confidence and ability to work well in a team. THill Synchro has a group of amazing young girls, wonderful staff and parents.

My 9 year old absolutely loves the sport. She looks forward to the practices every time, never wanting to skip once. I would like to see more kids in the community get exposed to this beautiful sport. I hope KATU can help spread the words!

We've watched our 9 year old granddaughter grow in the sport .She's confident and developed a real sense of "family" with her team and offers team support. She loves synchro. We love to watch the product of excellent coaching and devoted athletes.
