You know it is cold when the waterfalls freeze at Silver Falls State Park. On December 10th Oregon entered its 3rd day of temperatures below freezing. I ventured out to Silver Falls State Park. The temp was just 15 degrees. The waterfalls have begun to freeze over. Both Winter Falls and Upper North Falls are 90% froze over. Use caution if you venture out to Silver Falls. There are icy bridges and icy spots along the trails. Dress warm and you will see the falls beautifully frozen. See the picture I took of South Falls all frozen, then compare it to the picture I took of SouthFalls in April. The pictures are of the some location but look worlds apart. What a difference weather makes. Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter Oregon is a beautiful place to explore.
