The Hurley Help Fund was created to fulfill a need in our community. The need comes from families that are struggling to provide medical care for their pet, especially in this tough economical time.
Hurley, the dog that has given back to this community and so many others, by visiting children’s hospitals, nursing homes, day camps, working with aggressive and fearful dogs, at risk youth, providing laughs and smiles with his many tricks, commercials, videos, teaching veterinarians and their staff, donating blood, and assisting in group classes at Everything In The Ark (Animal Enrichment Center), is now in need of a surgery his parents are struggling to provide.
Hurley tore his ACL in his left knee and will need a surgery called TPLO. His right knee will also need to be repaired within the next six months as it has a partial tear and will require the same surgery. To help compensate for the surprise expenses the Animal Enrichment Center is hosting benefit dog washes.
Our Next Dog Wash is on Sunday, January 17th from 2:00pm-4:30pm and will also feature a raffle for a special peice from Wade Glassworks.
This will become a biannual fundraiser to help others who have found themselves struggling to provide medical care for their pets. Any left over money from any events will go into the Hurley Help Fund and will be available on a scholarship basis for local families and their pets.
