I installed a propane heater (see picture) this year to save money. It was non vented but supposed to be safe for indoor use. To be safe I bought and installed a carbon monoxide detector (see picture) 5 feet away from the new heater. After using this heater and detector for 3 months I noticed that I was having headaches on a regular basis. I was concerned so I told my Doctor. I have been notified that I do indeed have signs of exposure to high levels of carbon monoxide.
I am not around any other possible sources in my home or car or work ( I work at home). My suspicion is that the detector failed to warn me of high levels of carbon monoxide. My Doctor has advised me to discontinue the use of this heater and have my home checked. I will not use the heater anymore, but I'm concerned that others, trying to save money on heat, may have a similar problem. I thought I was being safe by purchasing the detector, now I just want my money back. I wish there was a way to test my detector. I have emailed the manufacturer and am waiting for a reply.

1) contact the maker of that heater who says it is safe indoors send them a copy of the doctors letter. In you letter tell them that they owe you damages for misleading you. 2) do the same for the detector manufacture.

put the detector where you sleep. Have a source of fresh air for the heater. Pinheads seem to have lot of headaches and and suffer your sort of brain dysfunction.(fall prey to their own stupidity.)
