27 lb Chinook Salmon caught by Cheryl Mallonee 4-10-10 in the Columbia River
I was out fishing in the Columbia River all day yesterday, and was lucky enough to catch this beautiful 27 lb Chinook Salmon.
Just wanted to share the pic, as we are so fortunate to live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest where we have so many great places to go, things to do....like fishing! :-)

I guess that fish at around 32 to 34 inches and around 22 lbs

That is a fish of a life time. How long was the fight and what kind or bait was used? and as for as living in the North your right it don't get any better than that.

The adipose fin is about half way from the tail to the dorsal fin on the back, about where her left hand is...appears clipped. It is small and serves no apparent purpose except to mark hatchery fish....when is the BBQ?

Hatchery fish are for retention... thats why we have hatcheries. Wild native fish with the adipose fin must be released unharmed.

Wow. That's a big fish! The fin above the tail looks like it may have been clipped. This is usually a sign that it came from a hatchery though, and I've heard we may not be able to keep hatchery fish. Could you fill me in on the rules?
