This picture was taken in the Valley of Fire in Nevada. My wife and I went to Las Vegas for a weeks vacation from Portland 3 weeks ago. We were looking through a guide book and found the Valley of Fire. We decided to go there for the scenery and found this amazing Native American art carved on the valley walls. We were told by the Park Service this is 1000 to 3000 years old.

I went to visit my kids in Las Vegas. My son took us to the valley of fire as well! We were in awe of all the pictographs in the area! Great experience!

It is not "scratched onto wood". Click on the picture to zoom in on the photo. These are original and Native American. They are without question a treasure of and to American history.

I spend a lot of time studying the origins of religion, and on the extreme, 3000 years would be contemporary with the beginnings of religion in the rest of the world. I wonder what the Artist had seen to make him/her draw such things?
