I watched the documentry on Iceland last night with it's effect on the weather in the northern hemisphere and past history of the eruptions there. In the past the vapors and ash changed the weather two years in a row.
I was raised in this area, born in a small town West of here, Mitchell, Or to be exact, This beautiful upper John Day Valley is a paradise. The population is small enough to call this area VERY RURAL. The local cattle ranchers have never had to feed their stoch this late in the year. Most of the stock should have been transported to the summer grazing lands leased by the Forest service or BLM. The stock that has been moved will have a hard time getting to the grass if the snow continues.
Our driveway is at the 3,500' level in Prairie City, OR 13 miles East of John Day on Highway 26
