PRESS RELEASE #2
Scout breaks ground for new bus stop in Aurora for local school kids
After working for over 10 months on designs and details with engineers, architects, the City of Aurora, and several county and state agencies, a Boy Scout’s dream is starting to become a reality.
Today (August 21, 2007 at 3:00 pm) Life Scout Michael Templin, along with boys from Troop 559 in Aurora and Mayor Jennifer Strutz of Aurora, broke ground today for a new bus stop shelter for the school kids in Michael’s neighborhood. The new shelter will sit on Highway 99 E in Aurora by Orchard Avenue.
Says Michael, “ This phase of the project has been a long time coming. It has been a long, hard process but it has been worth it. It’s fun and exciting to see this start to come together.”
Says Mayor Strutz, “ I realize that the paperwork process is a long hard necessary step. Besides – this is the fun part.”
Michael will be working on his shelter for the next 2 weeks and hopes to finish in time for a school start on September 5.
If you do run the story, could you call 503-678-1569 as I would like to tape the program.
