Here is a good reason why dogs shouldn't be allowed in stores.While I was shopping at the Tigard Home Depot today I almost stepped on a dog feces near the appliance section. When I asked the clerk if dogs are allowed in the store, she said that they are not (except for service dogs), but since store clerks are not allowed to question dog owners, there is nothing she could do about it, except to clean up the poop when an accident happens. A grocery clerk at the new Safeway in the Pearl told me the same thing as we watched a non-service dog sniff the produce. Does anyone know if this is a law or a store policy?
