For the Friends of History's 2010 Endowed Lecture held at Portland State University, the honored speaker was the distinguished British Historian Sir David Cannadine.
Sir Cannadine has published many best selling histories, biographies (In Churchill's Shadow), and commentaries on the British Royal Family. His lecture on "Winston Churchill, Anglo-America and the "Special Relationship" was attended by a very large audience of Churchill fans, British history buffs and the general public in PSU's Hoffman Hall.
Prior to his lecture, Sir David was guided on a tour of important Portland landmarks and institutions by FOH president K.C. Piccard, including the Oregon Historical Society, where George Vogt, the executive director,took him on a special tour of the exhibits.
