The cove at Painted Hills

The Painted Hills

We traveled on Hwy. 26, through the Ochoco's and out to the Painted Hills near Mitchell, Oregon. This is one of the most fascinating places in the State. The soil is clay-like with minerals creating the various colors that make the hills look painted. What a tremendous trip.
