In Beaverton, Wednesday 6/2/10 at 7:10 am our tree split right down the middle and fell on our shed, deck and across our fence into the greenspace, beside Fanno Creek. Our tree was selected due to it being a swamp variety, to help soak up all of the excess moisture in the back yard. Apparently our past couple of weeks of rain was just too much. After 15+ years of doing what it was planted to do, it had enough. We'll have to get the stump out eventually...maybe when the sun comes back out for more than a day. Still loving the NW and the liquid sunshine!
