During my drive home on the evening of June 18, 2010, I was passing through Long Beach, entering Seaview. I glanced to my right and noticed the sky was displaying a magnificent array of colors. I thought to myself, "Self: This would be the perfect time to take a picture!" Just then, a sign that read, "Beach --->" rapidly approached. Applying the brakes, I flipped on my blinker and made the turn down toward the beach. As the roaring Pacific came into view, it was all I could do to keep from driving into a sand dune as I marveled at the beauty that is Mother Nature. Not even thinking about getting stuck in the sand, I pulled down onto the beach and parked the car. Inside my console in the car is a digital camera. I took that out, got out of the car, and started snapping pictures non stop for about 20 minutes, capturing what may be the most beautiful sunset I have seen in a long time.
And just in case you're wondering: my car did not get stuck on the beach... But it was a chore getting it off there as I had to go in reverse the entire way for if I would've attempted turning around, it would've ended in utter failure.
