Very bright eastern star?

is it a star or is it a planet???

The morning of the 19th this month, my husband and I had been sitting out on our back patio before he headed out to work and we both had this amazing glow upon us from the east. It was a brilliant bright star, so we thought? I of course get my camera out and get pictures of it. I didn't down load them till the next morning, and to my amazment had this picture. Can you help explain what this may be?

It is called the morning star, it is a planet that preceeds the sunrise.
