While traveling around in Central Oregon we found the old semi-deserted ghost town of Richmond Oregon located just off the Mitchell-Service Creek HWY 207 in the middle of nowhere. This was the original town church built in 1888 and still in it's original condition. Very historic place. A little to rustic for our wedding but to the right person this place is paradise. The grounds around the church are like a beautiful park.

I certainly know this church! I had the honor of delivering a message there many years ago as a guest pastor. This church was part of the circuit for traveling pastors, "John Wesley style", many years ago.

This town was probably named for the London (England) suburb of Richmond. That's because some nearby ghost towns on an old map are named Sutton, and Twickenham, which are nearby English towns (even today, nearby roads are called N/S Twickenham).
