Both Upper and Lower Butte Creek Falls is located outside of Scotts Mills,Oregon
It is quite a drive to get to these falls. When the pavement ends... It is a washed boarded road up in the Santiam forest. Once at the trail head,,the trail drops and drops.. this trail is easy in regards to the fact it is a well maintained trail,,there are some slick spots due to mud.I recommend that people be in good shape to hike into these falls,,as its a long climb back out. Once at Upper Butte Falls.. the ground gets rather muddy... and its slick, esp... behind the falls,,To really view lower Creek Falls.. one must be out on a rocky narrow ridge overlooking the falls.
That climb out, back to the parking area ,is more strenuous.
