Our 10 year old lab/ border collie mix was out in the front yard with us yesterday while my son was playing and I was mowing the lawn. He ran off for some reason, and we haven't seen him since. This is very unlike him. He is about 70 pounds, black with tan markings on his face and legs and white markings on his neck and chest. He was not wearing his collar at the time, but the humane society is aware of him being missing and has all his licensure info on file. He is somewhere in the area of SW 185th and Johnson, just north of TV Hwy. If you have seen him, please call my cell at 503-547-4394. Thank you so much for your help.

Well, I took Chuck and Dawn to the Milwaukie Dog Park yesterday evening. Guess what? We were the only ones there until a couple of other dogs showed up with thieir caretakers.

It was a muddy mess, of course, but the dogs had a great time anyway. Huskies and Malamutes just love cold, damp weather.

Glad I have a pickup truck with a canopy so I don't have them climbing all over my interior when they get muddy. Don't even hafta wipe 'em down. I'd hate to take 'em there in an SUV or passenger car when it's wet.

Chuck enjoys sleeping and dozing in the large wooden chair on our patio, especially on sunny days. He also enjoys snoozing in the chair when I build a raging fire in the woodstove on our patio, especially when it's cold outside.

Dogs have a great life, don't they?

Last summer Chuck and I went up to Clear Lake on Mt. Hood for the weekend. Even though it was only 8 months ago, it seems as though it's been forever since the air was warm and skies blue.

Looking forward to much more camping this summer. So is Chuck.

Glad to see the new "Dogs" section in YouNews!

Our problem pooch, Shadow, is perhaps the most frustrating dog there is. She runs away constantly, barks at anything that moves (including some non-moving objects such as our pool table and oven), and tries to devour my grandchildren. She can be very sweet and lovable, but some help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Miley, my nearly two year old Cairn Terrier is the most hyper dog I've ever owned. She has to have a collar and harness attached to her leash since she can escape so easily.
In the car, I attach her to her seat belt, a clip attached to the seat belt strap and often she will screech and scream, growing more and more frenzied during the car ride, although she gets a ride every day, to walk in the surrounding parks in our area.
It is out of the question to open the car window, since she will hurl herself over the door, dangling out into traffic, still attached to her seat belt until I reach around and pull her back in.
I need help keeping her calm during our ride so that she doesn't break my Scottish Terrier, Smitty's or my ear drums with her racket!
